Erase personal data from a Droid Phone

With the advent of the iphone coming to Verizon I am assuming that the return/sale/etc of many current Droid users will be coming in the future. With that said, individual will be looking to delete all the personal information contained prior to moving on….follow the below and all will be “deleted”!

  • Remove the battery cover of the phone and remove the battery. this will give you access to the memory card. Remove the card and reinstall the battery
  • Re-power on the phone
  • From the main screen select “menu” then “settings” then “privacy” then “factory data reset”
  • you will see several options, select “reset phone”

After the phone “reboots” itself, you will see the screen indicating “tap Android to begin”. Your phone is now reset and your private information “should” be safe…..although I cant promise some computer hacker can never get it back out of the phone…the pictures, music and suck are safe with you on the memory card
